Medical Manager - Pharmaceuticals

Our client are a major FMCG organisation who are looking for a Medical Manager, who will proactively support teams with all medical issues, update all teams on relevant medical information and influence strategic product direction.

Candidate Responsibilities:
Proactively support the project teams, providing medical input and strategic advice to ensure the feasibility and success of product development initiatives.
Proactively liaise with external key opinion leaders to enhance the Companys knowledge base. Input relevant information to the project teams to influence strategic project direction.
Keep up-to-date with product literature and current medical opinion, alerting the project teams to new clinical data or medical press coverage that may impact upon the successful completion of a project.
Advise upon the best medical approach to build upon positive data or to counteract adverse publicity, working with the relevant Global Professional Relations Manager.
Provide medical information and advice in the development of promotional claims, ensuring that claims are medically accurate, fair, balanced and defendable in the event of a competitor challenge.
Liaise with Marketing teams and advertising agencies to maximise promotional claims.
Review HCP and consumer research proposals, advertising briefs and advertising concepts for new products, providing appropriate medical input and advice.
Work with Marketing to identify and act upon inappropriate competitor advertising and support the Medical Affairs team, where necessary, in the defence of competitor challenges.
Work closely with the Global Regulatory and Clinical teams to ensure that Clinical Overviews and Summaries for Global dossiers and dossier updates are provided to meet business needs. Share responsibility with Global Clinical team for the provision of high quality answers to Regulatory questions that arise during the dossier review process.
Provide line management to the Medical Advisers, ensuring development of these individuals is provided.
Provide support to the Global Drug Safety Group as and when required.

Candidate Requirements:
Either a medical doctor or a pharmacist or life science degree with 5 years experience in OTC Healthcare.
Computer literate
Effective medical writing skills
Ability to critique medical and scientific information
Familiar with literature searching ( e.g.Medline) and information retrieval databases
Previous experience in a Medical Affairs role essential, ideally in an OTC setting.
Medical experience in specialty related to business ( analgesia , dermatology , ENT, GI, medical devices) an advantage
Presenting at Regulatory Agencies globally an advantage.
