Support Technologist

Senior Development Technologist Salary 20,000 - 25,000 Humberside or Norfolk Area

A Fantastic opportunity with a large Food Manufacturer.
Looking to employee an individual with at least 1 years experience of working in the FMCG environment. Ideally has a background working with added value pork, sausages and bacon or similar.

Working with the NPD Manager to develop and to deliver all NPD projects.

To work with passion and pride at all times demonstrating this through results and in-depth knowledge of food and processes
Some travel between sites will be required.

Key Responsibilities:
- To work with the development team to deliver new concepts / projects in line with the brief.
a. Sample preparation
b. To work within tight time scales ensuring that products are delivered to the correct specification satisfying customer and business, commercial, nutritional and process development requirements.
c. To ensure the Product Development process is followed and that each stage is completed accurately, documented and communicated through to key stake holders.
d. To be involved in the brainstorming / brief scoping and to supply information for product reviews as required.
e. To ensure that Launch packs are updated as required by BRC.
f. To work as an integral member of the NPD team networking with other internal departments, suppliers and the customer as required
g. To support the site teams in carrying out an internal Risk assessment to ensure that all aspects of safety, legality and product quality are being met by the company within the current manufacturing procedures.
h. To demonstrate good housekeeping practices at all times

Factory trials:
a. Lead and own trials in conjunction with relevant functions. Ascertain and resolve wherever possible any production challenges through discussions with relevant supporting functional heads.

Other duties as required to support the success of the department and business overall.

Desirable experience, degree (or similar) abilities:

Degree or similar in i.e. Food Technology or similar.
A strong Technical knowledge ideally provided from experience (2-3 years) within a similar field.
Intermediate or Advanced Food hygiene certificate
Must be in possession of a full valid driving licence
Computer literacy

Ability to create a favourable first impression, project yourself well and present with confidence
Able to enjoy working within a fast-moving environment with change and high expectations
Demonstrate a genuine interest and understanding of food
A proven track record of project management, with strong communication skills.
